Dress your family in Corduroy and Denim

I read Dress your family in Denim and Corduroy by David Sedaris last week and I found myself laughing out loud when reading many of the stories!
My favorite story was definitely 6 to 8 black men and it had me in stitches. Sedaris' take on life in general is full of many funny details that most people that would most likely miss on a daily basis. I guess maybe seeing life through the eyes of a gay man is funny to me, I totally get it. Maybe I am a gay man?
I would recommend this book to anyone needing a laugh, anyone who has a quirky family life or anyone who just wants something light to read. This would be a great book to read on the airplane as it has many little short stories and doesn't require a HUGE attention span to keep up.

The Red Tent

So I read the "Red Tent" by Anita Diamant a few weeks ago and I am not just getting around to a review. It was a GREAT book. I never in a million years thought that I'd be interested in a book about biblical times, yet I found it fascinating. I had to keep refering to the family tree in the front of the book to keep it all straight, but eventually it all came together.
I love how the story was told from Dinah's point of view and lead the reader into a realistic view of what it might have been like in the "red tent" with all of the other women.
I would recommend this book to any woman who might be curious as to what it might have been like to be a woman in biblical times.
